NSNP Streams: Which One Fits You?

1. Skilled Worker Stream

If you’re aged 21–55 with a full-time, permanent job offer from a Nova Scotia employer and at least one year of related work experience (six months with the same employer for TEER 4 or 5 jobs), this stream may be right for you. You’ll also need a high school diploma and the required training, skills, or accreditation. (turn0search0)

2. Occupations in Demand

Ideal for workers with job offers in in-demand NOC categories like nurse aides, truck drivers, kitchen helpers, light-duty cleaners, or construction helpers. Must have a full-time permanent offer from a registered Nova Scotia employer. (turn0search5)

3. Experience: Express Entry

For individuals with at least one year of work experience in a skilled occupation in NS, aged 21–55, with valid authorization, a high school credential, and language proficiency (CLB 7 for NOC 0/A; CLB 5 for NOC B). No job offer required. Aligned with Express Entry. (turn0search1)

4. Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry

Targets highly skilled individuals in the EE pool. You need one year of work experience in an in-demand occupation, a CLB 7+ language score, and possibly sufficient settlement funds if applying without a job offer. Aligned with Express Entry. (turn0search1)

5. Labour Market Priorities

Selects Express Entry candidates identified through a Letter of Interest by the NS Office of Immigration, typically targeting priority occupations. Receive 600 CRS points upon nomination. (turn0search1)

6. Labour Market Priorities for Physicians

For physicians (GPs or specialists) with job offers from designated health authorities, in designated NOCs (3111/3112). Requires a signed two-year Return-for-Service Agreement. Aligned with Express Entry. (turn0search1)

7. International Graduate Entrepreneur

For NS graduates who already operate a business in the province for at least one year and intend to settle permanently. Invitation-only stream. (turn0search0)

8. Entrepreneur Stream

Aimed at experienced business owners/senior managers with at least 3 years of business experience or 5+ years in senior roles, aged 21+, with a net worth of at least CAD $600,000 and at least CAD $150,000 investment.
