What Is the NTNP?

The Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP) allows eligible individuals—skilled workers, semi-skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and Francophone candidates—to be nominated by the territory for Canadian permanent residency. NTNP Streams Overview

1. Employer-Driven Stream

This stream is employer-led—you cannot apply directly. NWT employers nominate foreign nationals when qualified Canadian workers are unavailable. It includes three sub-categories:

• Entry Level / Semi-Skilled Occupations: for workers in TEER 4–5 roles who have at least 6 months of experience in the NWT. (turn0search4, turn0search11)
• Skilled Worker: for candidates with job offers in TEER 0–3 occupations—education and credentials matching the position are required. (turn0search4, turn0search11)
• NWT Express Entry: for eligible candidates already in the federal Express Entry pool, who have a job offer and intend to settle in the NWT. Nomination provides 600 CRS points. (turn0search4)

2. Business Stream

For entrepreneurs looking to start, purchase, or invest in a business in the NWT that contributes to the local economy and creates jobs. Managed by the Department of Industry, Tourism, and Investment. (turn0search20)

2025 Intake & Allocation Highlights

• The second NTNP intake for 2025 is open from July 2 to July 9. (turn0search2)
• Out of a total of 150 nomination slots for 2025, there are 21 spaces remaining, allocated as:
  • 10 for Entry Level / Semi-Skilled
  • 10 for Skilled Worker / Express Entry
  • 1 for Francophone applicants
